Everyone loves drug store beauty. And what’s not to love? Great prices without compromising quality, and most importantly it’s convenient! There is a drug store pretty much where ever you live or visit. But there is something so pampering and self loving about splurging on some luxuries for your vanity. These three items will take your shower, bath and body experience to the most luxurious next level.
TOM FORD Soleil Blanc Shimmer Body Oil
Okay now this retails for about $100 for 3 and a half ounces but it is so worth it! It is described as a body oil that captures the sultry effect of sun-kissed summer skin and tempts the senses with a fragrance of scorching sensuality. I have to agree. It goes on smooth and is very light weight and has a sophisticated scent unlike some of the other shimmer oils that tend to smell like candy or coconut. I usually rub a small amount into my collar bones and on my shoulder bones and it leaves such a beautiful glow without the extreme glittery shimmer of other products. A definite winner!
Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant
This is an indulgent body scrub with antioxidant-rich cocoa butter and nourishing coconut oil to gently buff and smooth for soft, supple skin. It retails for $45 and is easily picked up in Sephora or you can make a quick order from Nordstrom or Nieman Marcus. It smells amazing like warm hot cocoa (if you like that sort of smell) and leaves your body feeling smooth and lovely!
Aman Purifying Body Oil
Okay this is not your vaseline intensive care oil that you can easily pick up at Target. This baby is the King of Kings body oil. It retails for about $135 and is described as a potent and invigorating blend of oils to cleanse and clarify, helping to regenerate skin imperfections, ease aches and pains and restore vitality.
It has vitamin C, moringa oil and is packed with antioxidants and amino acids and is easily absorbed, filtering out impurities and restoring vitality. Kombu oil, a marine algae is highly regenerative and reparative. Arnica, renowned for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, helps to ease muscle aches, sprains, swelling or rheumatic issues.
Arnica oil is so good for pain and swelling. So think of this as a health aid!
Easy, Easy, Easy!
Okay, this is one for the last minute company and the impromptu cocktail parties! It takes so little effort to prepare. It’s what cooking in high heels is all about. Less time in the kitchen, more time for the glam.
1/4 cup of mayo (vegan mayo works just as well
4 ounce cream cheese( I use a dairy free cream cheese Violife)
1 tablespoon of capers rinsed (always keep these in the fridge)
1 tablespoon of diced red onion (toss these in the food processor or chopper to make it quick)
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
Dash of Cayenne pepper
4 ounces of smoked salmon (you can find this in the deli section of your local grocery store; Trader Joe’s has the best and Aldi is a close second)
Fresh parsley or Dill (you can pick this up in a small package for about 1.99 in the produce section
Bagel chips for serving
In a food processor, combine mayonnaise, cream cheese, capers, red onion, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and 2 ounces smoked salmon. Process until smooth, about 20 seconds. Transfer to a small bowl and stir in remaining 2 ounces smoked salmon. Top with fresh parsley or Dill if desired and serve with bagel chips. I like to add a dash or two of the seasoning The Everything Bagel.
Once upon a time, finding cruelty-free, clean, and natural hair care, makeup, and skincare products meant making a trip to a health food store. Thankfully that’s no longer the case. Stores like Target, Walmart, and Walgreens are making big strides in making these products available and affordable!
SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie
This dense shea butter, coconut oil, and neem oil smoothie hydrates curls so that they’re soft and defined. Work it through wet hair before styling, but take note that a little product goes a long way.
EcoTools Start The Day Beautifully Kit Makeup Brush Set

While the Eco Tools makes sustainability a priority, the brand puts together some of the most affordable, curated brush kits out there. Aveeno Clarifying Apple Cider Vinegar Blend Rinse
Bye Bye gross scalp build-up, hello luscious volume! First can we talk about the cute bright packaging? The bright orange hue adds so much fun to the packaging. It’s easy to read with the bold text, and then there is the fact that it’s easy to use! Upon opening the bottle you will be immediately flooded with the smell of a delicious apple. To me it reminds me of the scents of Autumn. It makes a nice little lather, that is easy to rinse out when done. Whenever I use this I immediately see how much better my hair and scalp feels.
Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balm Peppermint
When I buy toothpaste, I want something simple, minty, preferably whitening, and that makes me feel like a smart, eco-friendly consumer. On top of being made in the USA (with globally sourced ingredients), the box the toothpaste comes in is made from recyclable paperboard and printed using soy inks. I don’t have to worry about how the product will affect me or because it’s vegan, cruelty free, and there’s no BPA in the tube. Speaking of there being “no” something in the toothpaste, there’s a whole list of worrying ingredients that are ABSENT right on the box! I find that when I use this with a little bit of baking soda I have the best results.
I have a bit of a confession to make. I am one of those people who likes to peek at the vanity counters and medicine cabinets when I visit my friends and family. In my defense I consider myself doing research. Yep, that’s it! Research! I want to know what products and goodies are in your routine. From your eye creams to your body care and SPF. And if you are into make-up, I for sure want to know what you have in your beauty arsenal.
It’s only fair that I share with you a few of my favorite beauty must haves. I have lots of favorites, but these are my top 5 that I would grab if I was told I could only take 5 things! I don’t know who would do that to me but here goes!
Love, Beauty and Planet Tumeric and Tonka Essence Sun Kissed Glow Body Wash. With sunny summer weather lurking around the corner – which we will hopefully be able to get out and enjoy after COVID quarantine, we will want to debut soft, glowy skin and this body wash DOES NOT disappoint. First off, it smells, like delicious. But not in an overpowering way. It has soft hints of Tonka Vanilla and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and amazing.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask I think this may be a cult fave as I am pretty certain that this is Sephora’s highest and best reviewed lip care product. It truly is amazing. I have really dry chap lips, particularly during the winter months and this is my saving grace. It is the most luxurious lip balm that I have ever smeared over your my lips! Now, it does not have the chapstick price tag. It retails for around $20 but worth every single penny. The pot is small, but you only need a little bit to cover your lips. And to be honest, it lasts a really long time since you don’t need so much.
Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. OK so this would be the first thing that I would grab. Why? Diamonds that’s why! The finely-milled powder is infused with diamond powder to create a light-refracting effect that, when photographed, doesn’t cause flashback. It is the most flawless finish that I have ever experienced in setting my foundation. Price tag around $45.
Hello Bello Hair Skin and Nail
Vitamins are a big part of my daily routine and of course I want to take vitamins that not only support my healthy body and that naturally should include vitamins that support healthy skin, hair and nails. Hello Bello was co-founded by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, both parents who believe people would have access to affordable premium products. They offer a selection of products ranging from vitamins to diapers, organic laundry detergent and bug spray.
I have to say that these vitamins keep my skin looking pretty vibrant and my nails and hair strong. They taste like the kind of candy I loved (still do) as a kid and they are made without artificial flavors and colors, high fructose corn syrup, common allergens (wheat, gluten, eggs and peanuts), artificial preservatives and gelatin. These a priced well at $10 and can be found in Walmart or ordered from the Walmart website.
Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes in Shy
Whenever I want to give my eyes an extra sexy boost, these are hands down my go-to lashes. Kiss has mastered the technology that creates tapered ends where they blend seamlessly with natural lashes. These are significantly lighter in weight than traditional lashes, and you can barely feel them on!

If your lady likes chocolate, then you can’t go wrong with Fine Champagne Truffles from La Maison du Chocolat. The center is a smooth, creamy ganache delicately infused with Fine Champagne cognac covered with a layer of dark chocolate and dusted cocoa powder.

The name Valentine comes from the Latin word valor, meaning worthy.
