Once upon a time, finding cruelty-free, clean, and natural hair care, makeup, and skincare products meant making a trip to a health food store. Thankfully that’s no longer the case. Stores like Target, Walmart, and Walgreens are making big strides in making these products available and affordable!
SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie
This dense shea butter, coconut oil, and neem oil smoothie hydrates curls so that they’re soft and defined. Work it through wet hair before styling, but take note that a little product goes a long way.

Aveeno Clarifying Apple Cider Vinegar Blend Rinse
Bye Bye gross scalp build-up, hello luscious volume! First can we talk about the cute bright packaging? The bright orange hue adds so much fun to the packaging. It’s easy to read with the bold text, and then there is the fact that it’s easy to use! Upon opening the bottle you will be immediately flooded with the smell of a delicious apple. To me it reminds me of the scents of Autumn. It makes a nice little lather, that is easy to rinse out when done. Whenever I use this I immediately see how much better my hair and scalp feels.
Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balm Peppermint
When I buy toothpaste, I want something simple, minty, preferably whitening, and that makes me feel like a smart, eco-friendly consumer. On top of being made in the USA (with globally sourced ingredients), the box the toothpaste comes in is made from recyclable paperboard and printed using soy inks. I don’t have to worry about how the product will affect me or because it’s vegan, cruelty free, and there’s no BPA in the tube. Speaking of there being “no” something in the toothpaste, there’s a whole list of worrying ingredients that are ABSENT right on the box! I find that when I use this with a little bit of baking soda I have the best results.
I have a bit of a confession to make. I am one of those people who likes to peek at the vanity counters and medicine cabinets when I visit my friends and family. In my defense I consider myself doing research. Yep, that’s it! Research! I want to know what products and goodies are in your routine. From your eye creams to your body care and SPF. And if you are into make-up, I for sure want to know what you have in your beauty arsenal.
It’s only fair that I share with you a few of my favorite beauty must haves. I have lots of favorites, but these are my top 5 that I would grab if I was told I could only take 5 things! I don’t know who would do that to me but here goes!
Love, Beauty and Planet Tumeric and Tonka Essence Sun Kissed Glow Body Wash. With sunny summer weather lurking around the corner – which we will hopefully be able to get out and enjoy after COVID quarantine, we will want to debut soft, glowy skin and this body wash DOES NOT disappoint. First off, it smells, like delicious. But not in an overpowering way. It has soft hints of Tonka Vanilla and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and amazing.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask I think this may be a cult fave as I am pretty certain that this is Sephora’s highest and best reviewed lip care product. It truly is amazing. I have really dry chap lips, particularly during the winter months and this is my saving grace. It is the most luxurious lip balm that I have ever smeared over your my lips! Now, it does not have the chapstick price tag. It retails for around $20 but worth every single penny. The pot is small, but you only need a little bit to cover your lips. And to be honest, it lasts a really long time since you don’t need so much.
Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. OK so this would be the first thing that I would grab. Why? Diamonds that’s why! The finely-milled powder is infused with diamond powder to create a light-refracting effect that, when photographed, doesn’t cause flashback. It is the most flawless finish that I have ever experienced in setting my foundation. Price tag around $45.
Hello Bello Hair Skin and Nail
Vitamins are a big part of my daily routine and of course I want to take vitamins that not only support my healthy body and that naturally should include vitamins that support healthy skin, hair and nails. Hello Bello was co-founded by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, both parents who believe people would have access to affordable premium products. They offer a selection of products ranging from vitamins to diapers, organic laundry detergent and bug spray.
I have to say that these vitamins keep my skin looking pretty vibrant and my nails and hair strong. They taste like the kind of candy I loved (still do) as a kid and they are made without artificial flavors and colors, high fructose corn syrup, common allergens (wheat, gluten, eggs and peanuts), artificial preservatives and gelatin. These a priced well at $10 and can be found in Walmart or ordered from the Walmart website.
Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes in Shy
Whenever I want to give my eyes an extra sexy boost, these are hands down my go-to lashes. Kiss has mastered the technology that creates tapered ends where they blend seamlessly with natural lashes. These are significantly lighter in weight than traditional lashes, and you can barely feel them on!

Meaning of the Word Valentine
The name Valentine comes from the Latin word valor, meaning worthy.
If you want to make your significant other feel special on Valentines Day, then do something unique and different and big is not always necessarily the right pick.
What do you get her? The universe of course! But in the mean time Her Own Star will just have to do. At the International Star Registry, you can name a star after your sweetheart! With your package you receive a beautiful 12″ x 16″ parchment certificate with the name of your choice, dedication date, and telescopic coordinates of the star. You’ll also receive an informative booklet with charts of the constellations plus a larger, more detailed chart with the star you name encircled in red. Make it even more special by telling her that they have three wishes to make on their star. Make sure you grant each of these wishes!
Valentines is not just for the women. What do we get the men?
Consider gifting your man with something uniquely special also. While most enjoy romance and candles, men really want unbridled physical intimacy! So why not give tem what they want!
Break out the camera and assimilate a personal “playboy” style photo shoot with him as the photographer/creative director and you as his willing model. But make sure that he knows that the pics are for his eyes only!
Pair that along with some special love tokens from links2love.com. Each set of 10 tokens comes in red pouch imprinted with two intertwined hearts; each one is good for something like “a massage” or good for one kiss. You both will have fun with these.
If you want to go a little sexier, than try some racy love coupons that he can cash in anytime he likes; making your own will make it even better and you can create to say whatever you like.
Valentine’s Day was named for two men, both Christian martyrs named Valentine who were associated with romantic love in the middle ages.
For some couples, sleeping side by side in bed can be bliss, but for otherncouples, it can be pure madness! If you are experiencing the MADNESS here are three was to get better sleep.
- Create a “sleep friendly” bedroom. As a couple, decide what elements that you both want and need in your bedroom to make it comfortable and relaxing. Some suggestions are finding a common ground on the air temperature. This is sooo important! Some like myself prefer a cool dark room with heavy duvets and some people prefer to have it warmer with only a sheet. Find your compromise and make it work. You may need to add a fan to one of the bedside tables, or agree to sleep under separate blankets. If one likes the room dark and the other prefers soft lighting or TV, than consider using a really good sleep mask…. May I also suggest diffusing some essential oils like lavender for a calming affect and maybe even a white noise machine as it tends to be calming and peaceful also.
- Avoid negative and emotionally toxic conversations before bed. Stressful topics less than an hour before bedtime can affect deep sleep and cause overall unrest. Leave those conversations for earlier in the day.
- Address and treat any sleep issues like sleep apnea with a medical professional. Snoring and breathing issues can cause unrest for both you and your partner. In the meantime, try breath right strips… it may be effective in getting a good nights sleep.
My honorable mentions:
- Pick out a bed together… you both can decide together what size, and type is best for your sleeping habits. This included pillows, comforters and duvets.
- Be considerate of each others patterns… example, if you partner is a light sleeper, than try to limit your liquid intake before bed if getting in out wakes him or her up.
